You have arrived at the main website for the administrative seat of the Shambhala community in Europe. Shambhala presents a contemporary, effective spiritual path that reveals how to live in the secular world with courage and compassion. It is rooted in the contemplative teachings of Buddhism, yet is a fresh expression of the spiritual journey for our time. Our lineage is open to people of all traditions and backgrounds. Shambhala is strongly rooted on the wisdom of the Kagyu and Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism as inherited by founder of Shambhala, Chögyam Trungpa, and his son and spiritual heir, Sakyong Mipham.
This website is meant to be a resource for both newcomers and our current members.
Newcomers - will find basic information about what Shambhala is and does. Much more detailed information about this can be found on Shambhala’s international website www.shambhala.org and many links on this site will lead you there.
Regional Sites - Many European countries now have their own Shambhala websites in their own languages, and we encourage you to visit them to learn more in your own language about how to connect with Shambhala in your country and through your native language! See the list of regional websites.
Member Support - The other main purpose for this site is to serve as a resource to those who are already members of Shambhala residing in Europe and elsewhere in the world. Here members will find Europe-specific information and resources--especially in the Members section--that can help support you and your local Shambhala community.
